I just got done with my extra-long shift as a parcel clerk, because I was the only one on hand that’s old enough to stay until closing. Basically I was the only one out there picking up carts. At times, I had up to eight carts, pushing them by hand all over the parking lot.

With every step, it feels like a thousand pins are poking through my feet. My back aches.

I’m gonna be fucking RIPPED, but I’m also gonna be dead.

When I die, Zoidberg can take over the business accounts.

Scoob can have my steering wheel cover.

And donate my wheels to an Accord Sport in need.

like regular shopping carts? Back when I worked at a grocery store, we used to push lines of like 20~25 carts at a time. come on man.

Takes me back to my days of being a bagger at Kroger.

Everyone should have to do jobs they hate when they're young. Encourage them to succeed so they can do better as adults

Pffffft. Used to be pushing 30 carts while having someone steer them.

You know pushing carts all day is my entire job at target. And our parking lot slopes away from the building.

I can do that too. Pushing is easier than steering.

Check the fluids in my car regularly.

I don’t necessarily hate the job. It was just hard last night.

I don’t understand how people are so fucking lazy that they can’t push a cart 100 ft to the cart corral or whatever it’s called.

Not to pat myself on the back too hard but I always try and take an extra cart or two with me when taking mine back to try and make your job a little easier and also to try and keep them from hitting cars.

I’ll see carts in the middle of whole parking spaces. Like, really guy?

And I will replace all of them with fryer oil.

I hated Kroger. Most baggers didn’t last a month. I was there 3 or 4 months until I turned 16 and could get a better job. They treated us like scum. They made me come in every weekend at 6 am to clean bathrooms and take out all the trash. Wouldn’t give me gloves either. It was cheaper (minimum wage around $5.15/HR) than hiring a service. Had to clear the lots in peak summer heat of trash and carts and weren’t allowed to go on our break until it was gone. They made us go on our breaks at ridiculous times like 20 minutes after we got there and then have to work the rest of the time straight through or 30 minutes before time to clock out. Saw a kid cuss out a manager in front of everyone and just walk out and never came back. One girl went on break and never returned.

My last weekend I was scheduled I stopped going in. I already had another job lined up. It was the same schedule they had me doing for at least 2 months: Friday 5-9 (latest I could legally work) and then Saturday 6-12 and Sunday 6-1:00/2:00 (depending on how busy). I got a call around 5:30 on Friday asking where I was, said I wasn’t coming in. Guy said “ok” and I hung up. Rinse and repeat Saturday and Sunday. The only job I quit like that and the only job my mom supported me quitting like that.

Damn that sucks. My experience so far has been pretty good. The management seems pretty cool. And they let us go on a 10 minute break whenever we want, lunch break as well.
